Current Information:Born-Wapping Vlamertinghe Military Cemetery, Belgium 8th King’s Royal Rifle Corps arrived in France in May 1915 as part of 41 Brigade, 14th Division and in early June moved to the front at Dickebusch near Ypres. On 19th June they were relieved from the front line and moved back to Vlamertinghe. On 26th June they were employed in digging a new communication trench when Lieutenant Rawes and six men, including Rifleman Hall, were hit. The Battalion Diary does not specify what they were hit by but presumably it was a shell. The Diary then goes on to record that Rifleman Hall was subsequently killed when leaving hospital but gives no further details. |
